Pentax K100D Packs More than Bargained for

Pentax K100D 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera Shake Reduction and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens

Recently Wired Magazine put out a gadget review issue. They reviewed new, cool, and “best value buy” gadgets. To my surprise Pentax showed up on the list of best Digital SLRs to buy.

Canon, Nikon, Leccia are all names I’d expect to see on the list, but not Pentax. Sure Pentax has a long history in the world of camera technology, I just didn’t anticipate the camera maker to get such raves reviews in such a tough category. Continue reading

eBooks Reader Revived: iRex Iliad; eBookwise 1150; Sony PRS-500

If you’re like me, you read more than one book at a time. Some of them are digital and some are in print. There’s always a time when I wish I didn’t have to go find the book I was reading, or pack extra books for my long flight. I want all my reading to be in one place. I’d even like my digital subscription to the Wall Street Journal to be more handy!

Introducing the ebook reader. Its not a new concept, but several companies are doing their part to keep the idea alive. Avid readers are responding demanding more from their ebooks.

One such solution is the iRex Iliad. Its an e-Book reader. I hadn’t heard about this concept for awhile, but it appears to be back again. iRex is backed by Philips, so its no joke.

Its features are limited to reading electronic docs (so no surfing the web). I like the interface and design a lot. Continue reading

Montclaire Leather Recliner

Ordinarily I’d feature electronic-driven gadgets. Let’s face it you need somewhere comfortable to watch your 42″ plasma, right!? And, you can’t simply sit in any old chair. You need something classic, comfortable, and functional. I’ve got just the thing…

Montclaire Leather Recliner

Ok, this isn’t really ‘tech’ technology, but I do love this chair. It loosely fits under the category of technology in that its not your father’s recliner. The Montclaire has an old world feel, but features some new school tricks–it reclines.

Dry Guy. Dread Winter Less.

S16DG Dry Guy Boot & Glove Dryer

Winter’s fast approaching. For many of us that means snow. Where there’s snow, there’s wet shoes and gloves. I love snow sports, but I absolutely hate putting wet gloves and shoes on. Its especially bad when you have to trek back out into the below-freezing weather. Continue reading

AreoGarden is Naturally Easy

AeroGarden with Salad Greens Seed Kit, Parent

I spend a ton of time in the garden. Although I consider myself a “green thumb” I can’t even come close to the AeroGarden. The Aero is more engineered than gardening. With the AeroGarden all the science is done for you. When it tells you to water, you water (I know, I know..following the directions is a lot of work! Look the only downside is watering once week. Gimme a break ;-) ) Continue reading

“Ear Toasters” Have a Hidden Agenda

Lobz Ear Toasters

Ok, I admit, the name is weird, but the function is high. I’ve always been a fan of behind-the-head ear warmers. When trekking in skyscrapper-ridden urbran landscapes streets can become like wind tunnels. I’d been using ear warmers from a company called 180 Degrees. Now I’m giving my trusted solution a second thought. Continue reading

Trivoli Kloss Model One; An Aural Art Gallery

Tivoli Audio M1WHT Henry Kloss Model One AM/FM Table Radio, Silver/White

Where performance and simplicity are paramount but space is sparse, the Model One mono table radio fits the bill. With just three knobs, it is the antithesis of today’s ever more complex electronic products. But behind the Model One’s simple, innocent appearance, hides a multitude of technology facilitating higher sound reproduction and better reception over anything else near it in size or cost. The furniture-grade, handmade wood cabinet is not just for appearance sake, but also doubles as an acoustically inert housing. A heavy-magnet, long-throw 3-inch driver is allied with a multi-stage frequency contouring circuit that adjusts the speaker’s output over half-octave increments. Continue reading

APPLE TC465LL/A Incase Pouch for iPod ( Argyle Brown & Pink )

I’d been searching for something more from my iPod case when I stumbled across Incase. More art than electronic accessory, I was immediately attracted to their designs.

Masai Shoes; Like walking on the beach

MBT Sport High - (White) Free Powerbelt with Purchase

MBT stands for “Masai Barefoot Technology”. The technology is based on the findings from studies on how the Masai tribe benefited from walking barefoot. Masaians were found to have healthier joints and zero body fat from all their barefoot walking. Add in a little modern engineering and born is a shoe which changes the way your body weight distributes to your feet.
