Sling Media is Bringing “Slingcasting” to Mac OS X

They offer a set-top box which compliments your DVR device. All you have to do is purchase one of their Slinboxes (a devices which sits near your entertainment center to broadcast the recorded media).

Without any additional tech knowledge on behalf of the consumer, it will broadcast, or “Sling”, the video to another device (besides being able to watch it on your standard TV). Sling doesn’t charge a subscription fees for the service. All you have to do is purchase the appliance-like device.

Presently the Slingbox and its software client, used to view the broadcasts on the remote devices, is only available for Microsoft Windows users. However, a beta software release of the service is already available. The beta program is private for now, but rumor has it the public beta is a few weeks away.

Choosing the best music service

Okay, it’s time for me to finally say goodbye to my portable disc player, and join the online and portable music revolution. Okay, the revolution isn’t so new any more, nor is my computer, but as I wade through the sea of options for how to download music, listen to and buy online tracks, I grow more eager to get my feet wet and eventually suit up to take the plunge. But I happen to be a bit more practical than that. So, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time over the last few weeks trying to determine what’s best for my lifestyle, my wallet and my computer.
